‘A Little Pumpkin is on the Way’ Baby Shower

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere!

Let’s face it – those long, long end of summer days make us so ready for fall, we’re decorating our porches in August.

This Little Pumpkin Baby Shower is the perfect way to bring in that fall attitude to your baby shower celebration. Grab some of these simple base pieces of decor and visit your local garden center or grocery store to stock up on pumpkins for a beautiful baby shower.

In this article, we’ll cover:

How Do I Plan a Little Pumpkin Baby Shower?

Planning a baby shower can be a daunting task. Whether planning for just a mama or for the couple, you want to give them something memorable to remember as they celebrate their little one on the way! Take everything step by step and give yourself some time for planning.

For where to get started, check out my article on How to Plan a Shower for more details on considerations for your next event.

Pumpkin Baby Shower Invitations

Digital invitations can be easier for your baby shower planning for many reasons – you only need the phone numbers for attendees, you can send details and messages through the platforms and you can manage RSVPs and alerts within their systems. While I’m traditionally a fan of paper invitations, I will admit digital has become a much more preferred option.

What Food Should I Serve for a Pumpkin Shower?

For more fall vibes, create a grazing table or grab some charcuterie boards. This can be helpful in covering large tablespaces and feeding large groups of people without having to serve full meals.

You could also opt for a cozy chili bar. Grab your crock pot, some Fritos and some mix-ins and build yourself an easy setup for serving large groups as well. You could include different types of shredded cheese, red onions, jalapenos, hot sauce, ketchup, sour cream and green onions.

For some snacks, a popcorn bar is a great way to go. Along with buttered, salted, caramel or cheese popcorn, serve with other mix-ins such as pretzels, candy corn, M&Ms, peanuts or chocolate chips for some sweet and savory snack mixes.

A little wine bar with a red blend and a dry white can also create a great cozy fall feeling for this type of baby shower.

How Should I Decorate for a Pumpkin Baby Shower

Fall has its own colors built into the aesthetic already! If your weather calls for it, grab some tables and chairs and setup outside for some natural fall decor. You can create that same aesthetic inside with a mixture of real pumpkins, fall greenery garlands and some flower arrangements.

Pumpkin Shower Favors

Personally, I’m split on favors. For larger groups, favors can get expensive on top of the rest of the budget for the shower. Guests typically aren’t expecting a favor either. However, if your shower is a little smaller – usually about 10 – 15 guests – you might want to consider a small handout for each guest.

For a pumpkin shower, there’s usually tons in stores once fall decor hits. I like to browse the Target dollar section or Hobby Lobby for cute bulk favors to put into a cellophane bag. There are large selections of soaps and candles on Etsy or in stores. You could also choose to prep some homemade or store-bought candies in a goodie bag or box for an easy and cheaper bulk option.

Last, but certainly not least, the most obvious choice would be grabbing some mini pumpkins at the store, wrapping the stems with a festive tag and building yourself a mini pumpkin patch for a grab-and-go option.
